How to Vacay in 72 Hours

This trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic came at the time when New York’s weather is officially beginning to feel like fall, so a 72 hour getaway was a nice treat! Except this trip wasn’t just a vacation, I came with my husband to support his Gym Swag Fitness apparel company during the Coat of Arms body building event hosted by IFBB champion Victor Martinez.

After a quick 4 hour flight with United Airlines and we landed Saturday morning before most people have their morning coffee! After checking into the Hard Rock & Casino Hotel we headed straight to the event where my husband was a sponsor and even went on stage to give out an award! If your into fitness check out his site here Gym Swag Fitness.

Once we finished with the event, we got some R&R at the beach in the morning and a pool party in the afternoon. The beach was absolutely beautiful and the sand was so soft and to say we went during fall, the water was so warm and blue (you could see your feet!).

We stayed in room 8238 and it came with a king size bed, full bar, jacuzzi, huge bathroom with dual shower heads, and sitting patio. This may sound crazy but we didn’t try any of the restaurants and opted for room service instead.

The Hard Rock Hotel in Punta Cana is massive with…ready for this? 13 pools!!! During our 3 day stay, I only saw 4 pools! Most people we met said they were staying for one week and I think you need a week just to see the grounds. To get around the resort you had to wait for the trolly to pick you up or you could walk.

For this 3 day trip, I only packed 27 lbs of luggage: two outfits for dinner, three swimsuits and cover ups, two pairs of flip-flops, and crocs. I could've left some outfits home since I tend to over pack.

We checked out early Monday morning, ate breakfast at The Market, and waited for our 10:30am pickup to the Punta Cana airport. My favorite airport so far and a bloggers dream with endless photo opps.

For my flight outfit, I went for comfort and very simple make up. I wore Run Me Dry shades by Fashion Nova, duster and leggings by Target, sneakers by Addidas, and Bag by Louis Vuitton. For make up, I prepped the skin really well since I opted for very little makeup. I used my Thayers Rose toner, Trader Joes Hyaluronic Moisture Boost Serum, and The Body Shops Vitamin C moisturizer.

Since our airport pick up was so early, we had at least 2 hours to kill in the Punta Cana Airport lounge. Our flight took off on time and we made it back to NJ safe. For only 72 hours in a beautiful country we utilized every second.

This trip has me craving another quick trip. Where have you been in 72 hours?
